Volunteer students will gain training in stratigraphic excavation, recording skills such as drawing, and finds processing. Students will be expected to work for 5.5 days per week. This means spending most of the day on site followed by pottery washing in the late afternoon.
Tentative Season Dates for 2020 will be determined soon but will run for just over four weeks from approximately mid-May to mid-June.
In past years, the team found it easiest to fly to with Alitalia to Rome Fiumicino and then fly to Trapani or Palermo in Sicily, followed by a flight with Danish Air Transport to Pantelleria Airport (PNL).
The team plans to stay at local dammusi, located on the shore of the Lago di Venere. Each week we will eat most dinners in the house: cooking a few dinners together, bringing in takeaway food a few nights, and having an independent evening in town.
This is the largest town on the island. It has a few restaurants, cafes, and gelato shops. Walking along the esplanade is a pleasant stroll.
